Anyone know why this newest book, I'LL BE WATCHING YOU, is being released in hardback instead of the usual paperback? Those hardback prices are tough on the budget for a working mom with two kids in college! I think I will try and get this one through the library. (They don't have it yet but I think they have it on order.) Thank Goodness for Libraries!
The fact that I'll Be Watching You came out in hardback means that Ms. Kane has kind of had a promotion. It is a bigger investment on the part of the publisher and they think it is worth it. I personally prefer hardcover because they last longer. I am one who will re-read a book numerous times. I have even thought about contacting a company that willre bind a book in hardcover from paperback. My middle school library did that in the early 90's. It is still paperback size but it has a hardcover with the paperback cover on it. Hard to explain, but a really cool process.

I rather like hardbacks, but only for my favorites. Me and my mom have a deal going (we both have limited resources) where we split the price of the book. She currently has more storage space than I do so she holds them for me. However, once I get my library set up we may have a fight on our hands. By the time that happens, the book will probably be out in paperback or at the used book store.
